The Chaplet of St. Michael

O God, come to my assistance. O Lord, make haste to help me. Glory be to the Father, etc.

[Say one Our Father and three Hail Marys after each of the following nine salutations in honor of the nine Choirs of Angels]

1. By the intercession of St. Michael and the celestial Choir of Seraphim may the Lord make us worthy to burn with the fire of perfect charity.
Amen.

2. By the intercession of St. Michael and the celestial Choir of Cherubim may the Lord grant us the grace to leave the ways of sin and run in the paths of Christian perfection.
Amen.

3. By the intercession of St. Michael and the celestial Choir of Thrones may the Lord infuse into our hearts a true and sincere spirit of humility.
Amen.

4. By the intercession of St. Michael and the celestial Choir of Dominations may the Lord give us grace to govern our senses and overcome any unruly passions.
Amen.

5. By the intercession of St. Michael and the celestial Choir of Virtues may the Lord preserve us from evil and falling into temptation.
Amen.

6. By the intercession of St. Michael and the celestial Choir of Powers may the Lord protect our souls against the snares and temptations of the devil.
Amen.

7. By the intercession of St. Michael and the celestial Choir of Principalities may God fill our souls with a true spirit of obedience.
Amen.

8. By the intercession of St. Michael and the celestial Choir of Archangels may the Lord give us perseverance in faith and in all good works in order that we may attain the glory of Heaven.
Amen.

9. By the intercession of St. Michael and the celestial Choir of Angels may the Lord grant us to be protected by them in this mortal life and conducted in the life to come to Heaven.
Amen.

Say one Our Father in honor of each of the following leading Angels: St. Michael, St. Gabriel, St. Raphael and our Guardian Angel.

Concluding prayers:

O glorious prince St. Michael, chief and commander of the heavenly hosts, guardian of souls, vanquisher of rebel spirits, servant in the house of the Divine King and our admirable conductor, you who shine with excellence and superhuman virtue deliver us from all evil, who turn to you with confidence and enable us by your gracious protection to serve God more and more faithfully every day.

Pray for us, O glorious St. Michael, Prince of the Church of Jesus Christ, that we may be made worthy of His promises.

Almighty and Everlasting God, Who, by a prodigy of goodness and a merciful desire for the salvation of all men, has appointed the most glorious Archangel St. Michael Prince of Your Church, make us worthy, we ask You, to be delivered from all our enemies, that none of them may harass us at the hour of death, but that we may be conducted by him into Your Presence. This we ask through the merits of Jesus Christ Our Lord.

Perimeter Blessing

(Done by the head of the household or the person who has ownership or authority over the property)

Come Holy Spirit with your nine-fold gifts and anoint us with your divine light, wisdom and power. Come Lord Jesus and anoint us with Your Precious Blood, freeing us from every snare and stronghold of the principalities and powers of darkness.  O Mother of God, glorious and Immaculate and ever Virgin Mary, come and crush the head of the ancient serpent.  Great father St. Joseph, terror of demons, come and annihilate the enemies of our souls.  St. Michael, great prince and commander of the heavenly army, strike down the insidious foes that seek to destroy us.

Come glorious band of Apostles, come great patriarchs and prophets, come white robed army of Martyrs, come pure and noble throng of virgins.  Come to our aid St. Raphael, St. Gabriel, all you holy angels and saints, come now and repulse the attacks and deceits of our wicked enemies; render them impotent and helpless.  Let God arise; let His enemies be scattered and all those who hate Him flee before Him.

In the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and God, and powerful in the holy authority of our ministry, I render all evil spirits impotent, paralyzed and ineffective in attempting to take revenge against any one of us, our families, friends, communities, those who pray for us and their family members or anyone associated with us.  I bind, sever and cut off all evil spirits, all powers in the air, the water, the ground, the fire, the underground, the netherworld, and satanic forces in nature and any and all emissaries of the satanic headquarters.

I bind in the Blood of Jesus Christ all of your attributes, aspects and characteristics, all your interactions, communications and deceitful games.  I break any and all bonds, ties and attachments (+) in the name of the father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.  Amen.  By the Precious Blood of Jesus Christ, I now claim and sanctify this air, water, ground, fire, the underground, the nether world and all of nature.  All evil spirits you are cast to the feet of Jesus Christ to be disposed of as He wishes. 

Lord Jesus Christ, in Your love and mercy establish a perimeter of protection around this room, building and grounds; around myself,________________, ___________, ___________, all our visitors, our loved ones, those who pray for us and their loved ones.  May the Holy Angels guard us and all our possessions, including our houses, cars, pets, computers, phones, water lines, gas lines, sewer lines, electrical lines, all sources of supply in or out and everything else essential to our peace and well-being.

I ask that no demonic bondage, door, entity, portal astral projection, or disembodied spirit may enter this space of 5000 miles in all directions.  I ask that any demons within this vicinity or any that should enter here be rendered deaf, dumb and blind; that You Lord would bind them, rebuke them, and disable them from communicating or interacting with each other in any way.  Remove them now, sending them directly to the foot of Your Cross, Jesus, Son of the Most High God, we ask this in Your Glorious and Holy Name.

Personal Prayer of Protection*

Lord Jesus, I ask you to be with me today. I ask you to protect me, __________,________,

(name all those you wish protection for)

I ask you to protect me from sin, from sickness, from accidents, and from the evil one. If I have been subjected to any curses, hexes, or spells, in the name of Jesus Christ I break them. I declare them null and void. If there are any evil spirits trying to harm me or influence me in any way in the name of Jesus Christ, I tell those spirits to stop and to depart and to leave me and leave my home and go to Jesus Christ to deal with as He will. Now go, in the Name of Jesus.

Lord, in their place, I ask you to fill me with your Holy Spirit, with your Love, with your guidance, with your good health, and with your blessing for today.

Thank you, Lord Jesus.

Prayer Against Retaliation

Lord Jesus Christ, in your love and mercy, please pour your Precious Blood over me so no demon or disembodied spirit may retaliate against me.

My Blessed Mother Mary, I ask you, to surround me with your mantle, blocking any retaliating spirits from having any authority over me.

St. Michael, please surround me with your shield, so no evil spirit may take revenge on me.

Mother Mary and St. Michael, I beg you to send the legions of angels under your command to fight off every spirit that would seek to harm me.

I ask All you Holy Saints of Heaven, please impede every retaliating spirit from influencing me.

Lord, You are the Just Judge, the avenger of the wicked, the Advocate of the Just, I beg you in Your mercy, that all I ask of Mary, the angels and the Saints of Heaven be also granted to all my loved ones, those who pray for me and their loved ones, that for the sake of Your Glory, all of us may enjoy Your perfect protection.

Indicators of Demonic Attack or Influence*

Listen for the presence of a number (not just one) of the following possible Indicators of Demonic Influence.  If a number of these Indicators are present then Deliverance is recommended.  We are listening and looking for symptoms and possible combinations of symptoms. The following are predictable strategies the evil one uses.

Pressure on personal weaknesses – weak points could be emotional, psychological, a tendency toward fear or anxiety, low self-image, or a sense of inadequacy.

Curses, hexes, or spells – this is being targeted by a person involved in witchcraft or the occult. It’s not always easy to determine the purveyor of the curse, hex, or spell but if you can find the source, then you can defend against them even more effectively.

Physical illness – persistent, unexplained illness(s).

Morbid Curiosity – eagerly seeking esoteric aspects of mystical phenomena or fascination with the occult or preternatural.

Obstinacy – stubbornly refusing to change one’s opinion or chosen course of action, despite attempts to persuade one to do so.

Insomnia – recurring sleeplessness.

Constant indiscretion and a restless spirit – going to extremes, as in penitential exercises or apostolic activity; or neglect their primary obligations to do some personally chosen work.

Spirit of pride and vanity – anxious to publicize their gifts of grace and mystical experiences.

False humility – a disguise for pride and self-love.  

Decreased devotional life – being drawn away from prayer life or praise and worship.  Be aware this is subtle and can happen gradually.  Take steps to prevent it from developing.

Despair, lack of confidence, and discouragement – a chronic characteristic that alternates with presumption, vain security, and un-founded optimism.

Impatience in suffering and stubborn resentment  

Hypocrisy, simulation, and duplicity – the action of pretending; deception. Deceitfulness; double-dealing.

Excessive attachment to sensible consolations – particularly in the practice of prayer.

Scrupulous adherence to the letter of the law – fanatical zeal in promoting a cause, can open the door to diabolical influence in reformers and demagogues.

Significant resistance to a strategic ministry opportunity – the remedy is to increase prayer and devotion to Jesus.

Breakdown or division in relationships – this can include intense irritation, anger.  Satan is the prince of division, destruction, and damnation, he likes to stir up a point of irritation, criticism, resentment, or jealousy.  He tries to drive a wedge to separate key relationships (especially members in your ministry or on your prayer team).

Ask God to reveal the snares of the devil and expose the darkness.  Love and the flow of love will mend the wedges Satan seeks to use.

Depression, discouragement, sense of isolation – a ‘case of the quits’.  

CS Lewis   The Screwtape Letters

Screwtape, the senior demon, describes to his nephew wormwood the Law of Undulation.

Screwtape says “Now take note wormwood among these human beings, these creatures that we’re targeting trying to make them miserable, note there are ups and downs of life, there are peaks when they’re up and they’re emotionally high. Things seem to be on a roll and they’re doing OK. But, predictably, life being life, there are down times.  If at that down time when at the point all visible sense of God’s love, presence, and faithfulness evaporates from the life of that Christian, if at that point that believer still hangs steady and says “I trust anyway”. Wormwood, we are in deep, deep trouble”.

When you fall into the pit, when you’re in a valley emotionally or physically, just hold steady and allow the Lord to lift you.

Isaiah 40:31

Yet those who wait for the LORD Will gain new strength; They will mount up with wings like eagles, They will run and not get tired, They will walk and not become weary.

Barrage on the emotions or the mind – fear, confused or muddled thoughts, battling with doubt

Trace it… Face it… Erase it.

Remedies:

Confession – cleansed by the blood of Christ

Emotional/psychological attacks – seek inner healing

Fear and/or doubt – return to the practices of devotional life, scripture, praise and worship, and prayer.

Demonic harassment – Snuff the bluff… Don’t buy the lie… Refuse the abuse 

If you sense you’re bucking a head wind (demonic influence) then stop to pray.  Rely on the sufficiency of Jesus. Recognize your responsibility to resist demonic influence. Understand the principle of renunciation and verbal command (to bind, rebuke, render null and void etc.)
